I am a Doctoral Student at Aarhus University, focusing on the intersection of gendered impacts of climate-related disasters and women's political participation. Previously, I worked in the Female Leadership and Effects from African Droughts project led by Aksel Sundström at Gothenburg University, which significantly shaped my interest in this field of research.
Before joining Aarhus University, I worked at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Together with Lea Kaftan, I built a new linkage key database for political parties across social science datasets, called PolPaL (Political Party Links). We aim to provide a comprehensive, consistent, and long-term foundation for studying political entities globally and historically.
I hold a M.A. in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Bremen.
Political Party Links (PolPaL) is a linkage key infrastructure project for the social sciences. PolPaL provides a unified linkage platform for identifying political entities across social science datasets.
PolPaL, inspired by Party Facts, provides new linkage features, broader metadata, and extended coverage. It offers researchers a comprehensive, consistent, and long-term foundation for studying political entities globally and historically.
PolPaL →Fem-LEAD seeks to understand the connections between weather-related disasters and women's political standing in politics in African countries. The project focuses on environmental shocks, public opinion, and political representation.
I prepared geo-coded datasets spanning survey, palaeo-climate, and agriculture data, and collected sub-national data on women's political representation across African countries. For South Africa, I gathered contact details of local politicians, disaster declarations, and newspaper coverage.
Gothenburg University →Party Facts links datasets on political parties and provides an online platform about parties and their history as recorded in social science datasets. Established by Dr. Holger Döring and Sven Regel, the project has become a key resource for researchers studying political parties. I contributed by implementing and linking datasets on political parties as well as being responsible for general communication.
